The Town of Gilbert is seeking a proactive and customer-service focused engineering professional to fill the position of Assistant Town Engineer. The individual selected will oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting and construction of CIPs; manage and facilitate the annual update of the Town’s Capital Improvement Plan; and provide communication of project related information to stakeholders. The Assistant Town Engineer reports directly to the Town Engineer.
Gilbert has a history of rapid population growth and a commensurate demand for public works and private development projects. This position represents a great opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic community and engineering office.
Top candidates will be effective project managers with a record of success coordinating with stakeholders in project prioritization and implementation. They will be effective relationship builders: strong communicators verbally, in writing, in listening and in making public presentations; team players who are committed to the development of their staff members and their success. They are at ease working in politically charged situations: able to remain politically neutral, maintain relationships while working through conflict, and stay even keeled in pressure-filled situations.
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Professional Engineer license or be able to obtain one through reciprocity with another state, within the first six months of employment, with preference given to Civil Engineering. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Starting pay will be between the beginning and job rate ($95,011) of the posted salary range, DOQ.
