Multnomah Coumnty Department of Community Services is searching for an expereinced professional Engineer to serve as our Capital Imrovement Program Manager. As the Capital Improvement Program Manager you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise in several areas: capital project developments, private development, right of way and permit issues, operations and maintenance, and local small cities public improvements. Your work will be a mixture of road improvements, bike and pedestrian facilities, hydraulic improvements (bridges, culverts and fish passage) and traffic operations, and Willamette river bridge projects. In addition, you will serve as the County's primary contact with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to ensure adherence to the Certification Credentialing program.
As a part of your program management responsibilities, you will use your extensive supervisory experience to manage Engineers and Technicians assigned to plan, design and construct projects identified in the County's Transportation Capital Program.
Serving as the primary liaison to the Transportation Engineering community and local cities, you will provide comprehensive data for studies and address numerous smaller city needs, concerns and issues related to transportation projects. You will also assist the County Engineer in managing all legal aspects of the position and serve as the County Engineer in their absence. This is a working manager position, so your desire to work hands-on in many complex projects is essential.
Required Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
•A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
Required Special Qualifications / Transferable Skills*:
•Working knowledge of roadway design, hydraulic design and construction management.
