SUMMARY:

The City of Bend has a new leadership opportunity and is actively recruiting for a Transportation Services Director position. This is a regular, full-time opportunity to lead the Transportation Services department within Public Works.

This position works under the general guidance of the City Manager’s Office and is responsible for directing and/or performing complex supervisory, administrative, operational and professional work activities that result in the effective operation of the Transportation Services Department. The Director is responsible for all activities associated with the Transportation Services including street maintenance, street repair, street construction operations, cemetery operations and maintenance, equipment and fleet management and maintenance, MUTCD signage and roadway markings, transportation engineering including signal operations, sidewalks and curbs as well as other Transportation Services projects and programs.

The Director works closely with the Public Works – Utility Services Department and Engineering and Infrastructure Planning Department to ensure operational perspectives are considered in the planning and design of infrastructure in order to serve present and future needs of the community. In addition, the Director collaborates with Community Development, Finance, Legal and the City Manager’s Office to appropriately implement multi-disciplinary projects and community planning efforts.
