City of Buena Park is recruiting for motivated professionals to join our Public Works Team – Utilities Division and invites your interest in the position of Lead Water Services Technician. Per the direction of City Council, a new salary range has been adopted for this position effective October 22, 2013. In addition to a new annual salary of up to $70,866, the City of Buena Park offers an attractive benefits package including:

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, preferably supplemented by coursework and vocational training and certification in water production, distribution, and maintenance practices, including training in leadership techniques and customer service practices AND four years of experience involving water productions, distribution, maintenance, and customer service, preferably including work in a lead role involving the operation of water treatment or water distribution facility.

Current Water Distribution Operator D-3 Certificate is required. A valid Class B California driver license, acceptable driving record, and evidence of insurance are required within one year of appointment. Depending upon assignment, a valid Class A California driver license, Medical certification and Water Tanker endorsement may be required. American Water Works Association (AWWA) or University of Southern California (USC) certification as a Cross Connection Control Specialist or a Cross Connection Control Tester is desirable. May be required to work different shifts and respond to emergency calls during non-regularly scheduled work hours, including nights and weekends.
