Brief Description of Duties:
Exercises overall responsibility of assuring the proper planning, coordination, timing and execution of the wide variety of programs and activities falling within the scope and jurisdiction of the branch. Evaluates work layout, i.e. the requirements for the transportation, traffic and parking assignments and the necessary equipment utilized in accomplishing work functions relating to transportation and traffic services. Completes in-depth research and utilizes information contained in surveys, investigations, referrals, recommendations, etc.

Provides technically authoritative advice and guidance to the supervisor and top level management on complex, controversial and sensitive city-wide transportation and traffic signal systems, and other traffic related issues under the purview of branch responsibilities. Reviews daily and other regular reports submitted by the technical staff regarding progress and completion of work, time, and materials used, and unusual conditions affecting the execution or financial aspects of their work. Spot-checks jobs for engineering quality, capabilities of personnel, adequacy of production, and any conditions requiring modification of plans, procedures or policies, e.g. large and complex PEPCO construction work, jobs requiring the outlay of large sums of money or experimental jobs where difficulties have been encountered.


Qualifications:
Six (6) to seven (7) years of relevant experience.
