Denton (pop. 121,000) is a unique community, blending its historic past with a dynamic and high growth environment, coupled with a diversity to give it economic viability and strength. The Engineering Development Review Manager is a key member of the management team of the Engineering Services Department. The manager reports to the Director of Engineering Services and serves as the engineering coordinator on the city’s Development Review Committee (DRC). The manager is responsible for reviewing all engineering aspects of development-related projects, represents the needs of the following departments, and acts as liaison with other City departments involved in the review of development projects: Solid Waste, Drainage, Streets, Water/Wastewater, Public Works Inspections and Traffic.
City engineering services are managed by a central, consolidated department responsible for all aspects of design and construction of City capital infrastructure and development review of capital projects. The manager works with the City Engineer to coordinate development-related infrastructure improvements and the Director of Planning and Development to facilitate development-related engineering needs.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field, with Master’s Degree in business or public administration, engineering, or a related field preferred. A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in an engineering-related discipline is required. The successful candidate must have at least three years of supervisory or management experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Texas, or the ability to obtain registration, is required.
