Snohomish County Surface Water Management (SWM) Division is seeking highly motivated and well-qualified candidates for a Public Works Supervisor III position with Program Planning. This position will lead and support multi-disciplinary groups of staff in their role of protecting, monitoring, and restoring vital surface water resources within the County.

The Program Planning section develops, coordinates, and oversees the implementation of planning efforts that guide salmon restoration, marine resources protection, floodplain management, and groundwater management. The section also provides regional coordination and local implementation of Education and Outreach initiatives and provides technical assistance to County residents through a Watershed Steward program. The success of this program depends heavily on local and regional coordination with a variety of stakeholder groups, including local, state, and federal agencies; tribes; and non-governmental agencies.

The successful candidate will have qualities in alignment with SWM’s core values of providing and demonstrating high quality service, leadership, stewardship, accountability, respect, and integrity. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate significant experience in supervising multi-objective programs; developing, implementing and monitoring program budgets; overseeing grants and contracts; and supervising large groups of multi-disciplinary staff. The successful candidate will have good communication skills, will demonstrate the ability to work well with staff and stakeholders with a variety of backgrounds, and will be able to positively contribute to the overall management of the Division as part of the SWM Management Team.
