The Environmental Services Inspector is responsible for conducting storm water-related inspections, water quality monitoring, and storm water system inventory. Monitor residential and commercial properties to ensure compliance with solid waste ordinances and program guidelines. Generate and distribute violation notices pertaining to the Public Works Environmental Services Division.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Conducts inspections and enforcement for compliance with City code regarding storm water pollution. Conducts storm water construction inspections to ensure Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) match on-site items. Generate and distribute violation notices pertaining to the Public Works Environmental Services Division. Inspects commercial business to verify compliance with City ordinances regarding the discharge of pollutants into the storm water system. Inspects illegal dumping activities and performs searches for illicit discharges to drainage system to ensure compliance with local and state regulations. Conducts field inventory and inspection of the storm water drainage system. Communicate issues, missed services and complaints to the solid waste contractor. Manage the solid waste contractor to ensure contractual obligations are performed. Educate residents on City Codes, laws and regulations pertaining to violation. Assists with Municipal Good Housekeeping inspections. Attend annual trainings to ensure knowledge of laws and regulations are current. Document violation notices, letters, and citations. Data entry, administrative, educational and various support duties. Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Environmental Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate, possession of GED or equivalent Two years of progressively responsible experience in a related field. Valid Texas Class C driver’s license. Ability to obtain the Texas Code Enforcement Officer license within 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual Municipal experience Bachelor degree and/or continuing education coursework
