Marion County Public Works is seeking a Civil Engineer supervisor for our Land Development and Engineering Permits Section. The successful applicant will be an accomplished engineering manager who likes challenge and variety in their work, and has a natural talent to mold their work groups to excel in their business. This position is responsible for managing staff in the engineering review, construction inspection, and permitting processes related to land development, land use proposals, privately-funded roadway improvements, and public and private utilities. Other responsibilities include oversight of access management policies and permitting, administering the County Transportation SDC program, and supervising the Truck Permits and Weighmaster Unit. The successful applicant will possess strong management skills with engineering experience related to roadway and drainage construction, land development, application of codes and regulations to roadway issues, and/or related traffic engineering. Preference will be given to applicants with skills and experience consistent with the programs they will be managing.

This position requires a hands-on working manager who will also provide design and engineering services on special projects as needed. Applicants need to include the appropriate information on their application for preference consideration. Possession of an Oregon Professional Engineering License is required for the position, but may be obtained within 90 days of appointment.
