Earn Your Master of Public Administration Degree and Specialize in Public Works
The American Public Works Administration (APWA) is proud to announce a new concentration – Public Works Administration – in collaboration with Norwich University's School of Graduate Studies. This course of study is ideal for public works professionals looking to assume positions of greater responsibility. The concentration, offered through Norwich University's Master of Public Administration (MPA) online degree program, provides public works professionals with the specialized knowledge to make tangible differences in their organizations and in the quality of life of their communities. Students will study the following topics:
Historical development of public works and the role of public policy
Strategic planning, legislative initiatives and rule-making
Fiscal management, contract administration, project oversight, emergency management, business continuity, and multi-year financing of public works projects
This graduate program is conveniently delivered in an online format, meaning you can earn your degree and complete all coursework from your own home with minimal disruption to your personal or professional life. The MPA program is a 36 credit-hour degree consisting of six courses of six credits each, and can be completed in just 18 months. Completion of the Public Works Administration concentration earns you 12 graduate credits of study, or one-third of the requirements for a MPA degree.
