New board member appointed

Lawrence (Larry) Lux of the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter has been appointed to APWA’s Board of Directors as the management and leadership director at large. His appointment fills the unexpired term of former member C. Richard Kuykendall.

Lux is Vice President of Ciorba Group, Inc., a municipal consulting engineering firm with offices in Chicago, Illinois, and Brokaw, Wisconsin. He has been involved in APWA activities for more than 35 years, and has participated on the Emergency Management Committee, Reorganization Committee, and Strategic Planning Committee, and served as chair of the Leadership and Management Committee.

In addition to his membership in APWA, Lux is also a member of the American Water Works Association and the Institute for Transportation Engineering. He has been very active in projects with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and is also an adjunct faculty member at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
