American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA)

The American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) is an international trade association located in Fredericksburg, VA. Since 1969, ATSSA has represented companies and individuals in the traffic control and roadway safety industry. Over 1,600 ATSSA members provide the majority of roadway safety features, services and materials used on our nation's roadways. These include guardrails, striping, signage, lighting, drums, cones and barricades. ATSSA members also have a heavy emphasis in roadway work zone safety and training.

National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse

The Clearinghouse provides information and referrals to government agencies, public and private organizations, and the general public concerning the safe and effective operation of traffic work zones. The site includes information on crash data; current practices and applications; laws related to work zones; outreach and public education materials; research and development; construction standards and specifications related to work zone safety; technology and equipment; training courses and certification programs.

Work Zone Safety Publications Evaluation

An evaluation of 30 work zone safety and flagger handbooks in spreadsheet format (8.5" by 14" landscape format). Publications are rated on degree of compliance with the MUTCD and ease of use.
