Transportation Design Engineer
Slater Hanifan Group is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer in our Las Vegas, Nevada office. The primary duties of this position include: preparation of detailed construction drawings, project schedules and budgets; completing detailed design calculations and analysis; coordinating with government agencies, utility provides, project stakeholders, and SHG project staff and associated disciplines and/or subconsultants; perform field reviews and other assessments; prepare and review technical specifications and contract documents; participate in contract bidding and provide limited observation during construction; supervise work of technical support staff; determination and application of applicable codes, standards or other design requirements, and; tracking tasks against a defined schedule and budget.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in roadway design engineering
Nevada PE or the ability to obtain within 6 months
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and AutoDesk Civil 3D
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Exceptional organizational skills
