WATER TREATMENT PLANT SUPERVISOR POSITION
The City of Washington, IL is seeking applicants for a full-time Water Treatment Plant Supervisor within the Department of Public Services. This position involves supervising and directing Department employees, as well as performing various manual tasks and operating assorted equipment in the maintenance and operation of the City’s two Class “B” water treatment plants and related facilities. Qualified applicants must be customer-oriented and have knowledge and experience in cross connection control programs, meter reading and installation, operating a SCADA system and IEPA water sampling. Position interacts directly with City staff, customers and contractors on a daily basis. This position requires on-call status with flexible scheduling dependent on water treatment plant needs. Must possess an Illinois E.P.A. certification as a water treatment operator with a minimum of a Class B certification; Class A certification is preferred. This position requires graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent and a two year college degree in a related field and 7 years of experience as a potable water supply operator, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must possess a valid Illinois State motor vehicle operator’s license and a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or ability to obtain such within six months of employment. The candidate will need to reside within 15 minutes commute to the City or be willing to relocate within six months. Starting salary range: $43,188 – $63,726 dependent upon qualifications.
