This is advanced level managerial work overseeing the Renewal and Replacement Program for the County’s Public Utilities Infrastructure including: stormwater, water and wastewater underground infrastructure assets.

Duties:

  • Assess all County stormwater and utility infrastructure to determine age, current needs, replacements/renewals; proactively determine major issues, address minor repairs and determine timelines for R&R program.
  • Develops an effective program that is designed to determine critical issues, address minor repairs, plan for on-going maintenance care, and determine timelines for responding to all storm water and utility infrastructure needs; establish strategic planning initiatives for addressing and maintaining all storm water and utility infrastructure.
  • Reviews current CIP projects in queue to determine priority of projects based on critical need and budget.
  • Partners with GIS to ensure all asset data is incorporated into the County GIS system for quick future reference; ensures that the R&R, GIS and O&M Asset Management work is being coordinated to deliver the most effective infrastructure management system resulting in effectively delivering storm water and utility services to the community.
  • Manages and allocates annual budget dollars to projects based on priorities, age, and urgency of projects.
  • Provides leadership and directs all staff activities including; advocating the County values, coaching, counseling, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, and training and development.
  • Develops continuous improvement processes/deliveries balanced with fiscal responsibility and sustainability; keep abreast of latest technologies, systems and materials in field.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a physical or natural science, engineering, business administration, or a related field, and six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in managing water reclamation facilities and water production facilities, at least two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity directly related to the specialty identified in the Position Description. A Master's Degree in one of the above areas may be substituted for two (2) of the required years of experience. OR An Associate’s Degree in Environmental Science Technology and eight (8) years of experience of progressively responsible professional experience as described herein. OR A High School Diploma and ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience as described herein.  Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Dolly/Hand-Cart is available.Valid Driver’s License.
