The City of Mt. Shasta is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Supervisor. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $3,976 to $4,374 per month, depending on experience. The position receives P.E.R.S. 2% at 62 retirement plan, 12 holidays per year, sick leave and vacation days that increase with tenure. Under the supervision of the Public Works Director, this position organizes, directs and participates in construction, building, street, water, sewer and drainage infrastructure maintenance and repairs; coordinates assignments, personnel and equipment to assure timely and accurate completion of projects; and trains and evaluates public works staff.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, an ability to work with a variety of personalities, excellent communication skills, the capacity to organize and prioritize multiple projects and an aptitude for exceptional customer service. The applicant should have at least five years increasingly responsible experience in any combination of maintenance and repair of streets, buildings, and water and sewer systems or other related public infrastructure projects, including two years in a lead capacity. Experience with budgets, report compilation, policy development and Microsoft Office is highly desirable. A California Class B driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within one year, as well as the ability to obtain a Water Distribution Operator D2 certificate are also required.
