The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA) is seeking letters of interest from qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director will be appointed by the Board of Directors and is directly responsible to the Board of Directors, by and through the Board Chairperson. The person selected will provide strategic vision and leadership for the organization, and assist the Board in carrying out its governance and fiduciary responsibilities. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the performance and management oversight of all administrative, financial and planning duties, including the daily operation of the TBARTA, and its projects and programs, throughout the seven county jurisdiction of the Authority. Upon selection, the person in this position will lead the executive team, direct the budget preparation process, hold final authority in personnel matters, and be responsible for the Authority’s compliance with all applicable requirements of state and federal law, rules and regulations.
An annual salary plus a benefits package, as well as the length and terms of an employment contract will be negotiated based upon the qualifications and experience of the person selected for this position.

Letters of interest must include: (1) a resume; (2) salary history for the prior 15 years; (3) at least six references, and; (4) a detailed explanation of the applicant’s ability to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position, and meet the job qualification criteria set forth in the Executive Director Position Description which can be reviewed at the website referenced above.
