Civil Engineer I Salary Range: $69,424 - $90,573 Year / DOQ
Under direction of the Development Engineering Manager, the Senior Engineer has primary responsibility for managing a variety of difficult civil engineering tasks related to the project management of Development projects including but not limited to: customer service, program and policy management, project budgeting, construction management, cost estimates, obtaining easements, conducting meetings with consultants, engineers, and homeowners. Assignments are broad in scope and require the use of independent judgment, critical thinking, and initiative in making technical decisions of considerable difficulty. Incumbents typically oversee and review studies and design work prepared by outside consultants, although some positions apply their professional registration seal to plans and specifications prepared in-house under their direct supervision. Must be able to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Performs other related work as required.
Civil Engineer I Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; supplemented by four (4) years previous experience in Civil/Municipal Engineering and/or training that includes engineering drafting and design; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Texas Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months required.
Senior Engineer I Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering supplemented by six (6) years previous experience required, eight (8) years with supervisory experience preferred in Civil/Municipal Engineering and/or training that includes engineering drafting and design; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Supervisory experience highly desired. Texas Professional Engineer license required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
