CIVIL ENGINEER - ENGINEERING DIVISION
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
The Mount Prospect Public Works department is seeking a dependable candidate for the position of Civil Engineer in the Engineering Division.
This position performs engineering work including: field surveys, public improvement design, drafting, specification preparation, construction layout, inspection, documentation, permit reviews, and responding to informational requests from the staff, residents, engineers, surveyors and developers Assist in the planning and implementation of tasks necessary to achieve the goals of the Public Works Department as defined by the Director of Public Works.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a related field required. Registration as an E.I.T. in the State of Illinois preferred.
A minimum of two years engineering experience in municipal engineering, including construction inspection experience required.
Valid Class B driver’s license (CDL) from the State of Illinois or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Starting Rate: $60,000 - $68,000 annually depending on qualifications. Minimum 40 hours per week.
Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of a pre-employment physical, which includes a drug and alcohol screen. Mandatory residency requirement within one year of employment (Randall Road on the west, Route 176 on the north, Lake Michigan on the east, Route 64 to the south).
