Covington Water District seeks a seasoned, talented leader responsible for translating the District’s mission and strategic plan into action. This involved leader stays abreast of industry trends and technology, coaches and mentors valued and empowered staff, builds relationships with relevant entities and governmental agencies, ensures fiscal responsibility and places a high priority on customer service throughout the organization and externally.
The General Manager must speak and write with impact in a variety of settings, explaining ideas with conviction. They must skillfully operate in a dynamic political environment and continue building lasting regional partnerships. The General Manager must work effectively with the Board, and in partnership establish, articulate, and implement the strategic vision for the District.
The General Manager reports directly to the Board of Commissioners. The General Manager supervises six staff; the Business Services and Human Resources Directors, District Engineer, Facility and Water Resources Managers, and Executive Assistant. The District employees 38 FTE’s.
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative management style, a strong understanding on finance and public debt, excellent judgment, and the ability to lead, motivate, influence and guide staff.
