General Manager - Environmental Utilities
As a growing and diverse mid-size community, the City of Medicine Hat is engaged in a wide range of activities encompassing municipal services, land development, and the energy sector.
Are you ready to take on an exciting and challenging leadership role by joining a high-performing team dedicated to providing top quality service? As the General Manager, Environmental Utilities, you will be responsible for the strategic vision, leadership & administration of our Water Utility (treatment & distribution), Wastewater Utility (treatment & collection), Solid Waste Utility (collection, waste diversion, landfill & composting), as well as Field Operations staff (support construction & maintenance activities), and Customer Service areas which support departmental operations.
Reporting to the Commissioner, Development and Infrastructure you have over five years of experience leading and managing a diverse team of professionals. You have a strong understanding of both the opportunities and challenges in the delivery of municipal water, wastewater and solid waste utilities.. You have the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with your team, City departments, elected officials, government departments and community stakeholders. Your strength is in municipal civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls systems and construction project management.
