Plans, organizes and directs water treatment and distribution, sewer collection, revenue management, inspections, contingency planning, and related programs and actvities; supervises staff of 209 employees; develops goals, objectives, policy and procedures for department; consults with regulatory agencies, elected and appointed officials, senior management and staff; articulates policies and procedures to ensure compliance and identify deficiencies; monitors and researches trends, new methodology and technology, laws, rules and policy to develop and enhance processes and activities and plan for expansion; develops and defends department budget;advises and consults with elected officials and federal and state regulatory agencies and others on problems, strategies, policies related to public utilities;represents city on various boards and commissions concerning public utility issues; makes presentations on significant public utility issues or programs.
requires bachelor's degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering and six years progressively responsible experience in water/wastewater management. Master's degree preferred. PE certificate required.
