To plan, coordinate, manage and direct the department’s Rapid Inflow and Infiltration Reduction Program. Position responsibilities include monitoring contractor deliverables and staff activities; program inspection/evaluation/reports; fiscal management; and direction of operational/maintenance activities, controls and technical improvements. Duties include managing budgeted funds; materials acquisition; data and reporting; contracted services; employee training/evaluation; and safety compliance and involve competency in and ongoing use of various computer programs and other technologies.
Qualifications: Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in construction technology, civil engineering or related field (significant relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements). In addition, must have at least 3 years of increasingly responsible experience in sewer construction, rehabilitation and maintenance, or related field such as inspection, design or evaluation of plumbing systems, in addition to supervisory activities. Experience implementing community-wide programs preferred. The successful candidate will be approachable; collaborative; innovative; demonstrate high personal integrity; responsive to the community and able to create and maintain a strong team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills that lead to proven conflict resolution with customers are critical. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer technologies. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must possess or have the ability to obtain job-required certifications to maintain employment.
