The City of Springfield is seeking to fill a position which will work with both the Community Development and the Current Development divisions within the Development & Public Works department. This position will support both divisions through financial management, developing and maintaining budgets, and tracking contracts, intergovernmental agreements, and small capital projects. This position will be a part of an array of projects and must be organized and able to collaborate with a variety of people including co-workers, contractors, and members of the public.

Summary of Essential Duties:
• Develops and maintains budgets; financial tracking and management of contracts, intergovernmental agreements and small capital projects.
• Performs project and policy analysis, which includes: conducting research; determining and raising pertinent issues; summarizing findings; presenting results; making recommendations.
• Manages special studies and projects, which includes: publicizing projects; monitoring budget; establishing and monitoring timelines; ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, specifications, and/or requirements; preparing related reports; and performing other related duties.
• Assists in developing and maintaining strategic planning processes aligned with organizational goals and initiatives; coordinates departmental efforts related to assigned area of responsibility.
• Actively supports an inclusive and respectful work environment.

Education / Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience.
• Specialized knowledge specific to budget management, financial tracking, enterprise funds or money management is preferred.
