This is a safety-sensitive position in the Public Works Department, exercising a high degree of discretion, trust and confidence, organizing and directing the activities of a diverse group of employees in the maintenance of the Town’s streets, medians, sidewalks, right of way infrastructure and snow/ice removal operations. Work involves on site supervision of an assigned group of maintenance workers and the performance of a variety of administrative tasks such as scheduling, performance evaluations and safety investigations. Responsibilities require consistent attention and commitment to the agency’s mission and philosophy. This position requires a high level of problem solving ability, self-initiative and the ability and willingness to work a majority of the time without direct supervision. Persons in this position use independent discretion and judgment within established organization values, policies and procedures.

A High School diploma or GED equivalent and six (6) years experience in streets maintenance work with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or lead capacity. A valid Colorado Driver’s License with a Class “B” commercial driver’s license with air brake and tanker endorsements. Colorado CDL Class A preferred. Five (5) years of driving experience with a good to excellent driving record is required. Certified Traffic Control Supervisor or ability to obtain certificate upon hire. NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 300, 552, 554, 556, 558, 700 and 800 course completion or ability to obtain certificates upon hire. Ability to produce reports using common software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). The ability to successfully complete a background check including but not limited to: criminal history search, motor vehicle record (MVR) check, drug screen and physical evaluation is required.
Work hours typically 40 hours per week 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday; day, evening, weekend and/or holiday hours will be required as needed.
