Purpose of this position is to ensure that City roadways and facilities are maintained properly and safely. This is accomplished by maintaining roadways and the interior and exterior of City facilities, repairing and replacing signs and barricades, overseeing the mosquito control program and supervising employee work activities. Other duties may include assisting with animal control activities, providing support to the department and interfacing with other city employees and citizens.
Requires High School diploma or equivalent with 6 months of advanced study or training of a specific vocational, administrative or technical nature obtained at a junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence school. Requires a Class C Driver's License.
Requires a Texas Department of Health-Vector Certification, Structural Pest Control Board Certification and Animal Control Association Certification or the ability to obtain two (2) of the certifications within 6 months of the date of hire.
Must be able to proficiently speak, read and write English. Work involves choices of action within limits set by standard practices and procedures. Professional judgment is required to apply the proper course of action.
