NATURE OF WORK:

Under general administrative direction, plans, directs, manages, and oversees the functions, programs, and operations of the Engineering Services Division; coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Department Director, Deputy City Manager and City Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering and six years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience including three years of management responsibility. A Master’s degree is highly desirable.

Possession of a valid Florida Certificate of Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer. Possession of an appropriate and valid Florida driver’s license.

Certification from the Federal Emergency Management Administration, National Incident Management System IS-700 Introduction to NIMS, IS-800 National Response Plan, IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command, IS-200 Incident Command for Single Resources, IS-300 Intermediate Incident Command System, and IS-400 Advanced Incident Command System, or ability to receive certification within one (1) year of employment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not be limited to, evaluation of training and experience; psychological evaluation; polygraph examination; background investigation; medical evaluation; controlled substance screen.

Applicants are required to sign an affidavit for non-use of tobacco products in order to be considered for employment.
