New APWA staff
Shanel Hicks recently joined APWA as Program Marketing Manager and will be promoting the organization's educational programming and the WorkZone career center.
Shanel was previously employed as a Program Manager with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. Her responsibilities included overseeing the daily programming operations which included developing and implementing a marketing plan, community-relationship building, recruitment and directing organization program objectives.
Prior to that, for five years Shanel worked as a small-business consultant, where she was responsible for business development and marketing for startups. She was responsible for marketing including strategies and implementation, client prospecting and publication design.
Susan has an M.A. with an emphasis in Intercultural Communication and B.A. degrees in Public Relations and Visual Communication from Grambling State University, Grambling, LA.
