New APWA staff

Becky Stein, CAE, has joined the Education Department as Project Manager of Adult Learning Programs.

Becky recently received the Certified Association Executive designation. In 2001, she received a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In 2002, she received a Certificate in Fundraising from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Becky started her career in the nonprofit association field in 1992 with the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). She has been with the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) since 1998. As Executive Director of AAAP she successfully helped the organization relocate to the Washington, D.C. area this December.

She is currently a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Kansas City Society of Association Executives.

Thai Nguyen has joined the APWA staff as the Accounts Payable Specialist. Thai will be responsible for complying and maintaining accounts payable records, vendor files, petty cash, fixed asset records, log for use of signature wheels, and association contracts by performing various duties.

Thai had worked as system clerk for the Head Start Program in Appleton City, Missouri before going back to school to finish his accounting degree. He received his B.S.B.A. in Accounting from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Thai lives with his wife, Sharon, an elementary teacher, in the town of Appleton City located in St. Clair County. They enjoy bicycling, nature, and ministry work. Their "children" include five dogs, three cats, five chickens, and one horse.
