Art Gall joined APWA at the beginning of February as a Technical Services Program Manager. Art is the staff liaison for the Solid Waste Management and Water Resources Management Committees. The Solid Waste Management Committee monitors legislative issues that could impact the collection, disposal, or health/safety concerns of our members, and the Water Resources Management Committee deals with legislation and regulations that affect public works practices in the disciplines of water resources management.
A degreed Civil Engineer from the University of Illinois, Art has 26 years of municipal experience. He has served as Public Works Director in Wood Dale, Illinois; Lowell, Michigan; Oak Lawn, Illinois; and Artesia, New Mexico. He lives in Overland Park, Kansas.
Raye LaViolet has joined APWA as a Staff Assistant in the Kansas City office. This position will provide a variety of administrative support to the Human Resources/Office Management area including Receptionist responsibilities.
For more than 20 years, Raye was employed as an Executive Administrative Assistant primarily in the corporate investment and banking industries in Denver, Colorado. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, she moved to Denver in the early 1980s and was a resident there until 2001 when she returned to Kansas City. Raye enjoys walking, biking, traveling, and going to movies.
