New APWA staff

Ashley Gann has recently joined the staff at APWA in the Education Department. She will be handling all of the logistics for producing the new series of Click, Listen & Learns, APWA's virtual workshops. Additionally, Ashley will support the speaker communications for the annual Snow Conference and is co-leading the Construction Inspection course enhancement.

Ashley graduated from Kansas State University with a B.A. in Sociology. She resides in Overland Park, Kansas.

Kesha Hicks has joined the staff as Receptionist/Office Assistant, where she answers phones, prepares mailings, edits documents, and types memos and correspondence. Prior to joining APWA, Kesha worked for two Washington, D.C. area law firms as a Receptionist and Junior Legal Secretary. She also assisted in preparation for meetings and conferences.

Patty Mahan recently joined the APWA staff as Membership Development and Marketing Manager. Her primary duties will involve providing membership marketing, recruitment, and retention support services for both the national and chapter levels.

Patty brings significant marketing, sales, public relations, communications, and customer service experience to APWA. Most recently she served as Marketing Communications Manager for a local engineering software and computer equipment reseller. Patty received her B.A. in Public Relations from Northwest Missouri State University. She lives in Greenwood, Missouri with her husband, two children, two Afghan Hounds and a cocker-beagle mix.

Hiep Nguyen recently joined the APWA staff in a newly-created position of Information Technology Specialist. His primary responsibilities will include the development, implementation, and maintenance of APWA's chapter websites.

Hiep is a recent honor-roll graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology with a B.S. in computer information systems. He brings to APWA three years of computer hardware and software experience working at local businesses in the Kansas City, Missouri, metropolitan area.

David Reinke has joined APWA as the InfoLink Project Manager. For the past nine years Dave served as the Program Manager for a government contract operating an emergency communications network involving 76 separate federal and state agencies. While there he guided the introduction of new technology and applicable federal standards, implemented three project websites, converted delivery of administrative documents to CD-ROM and e-mail, and oversaw all Information Technology issues.

Prior to that he worked for venture-funded, high-tech startups marketing computer audio peripherals and designing and marketing pre-Internet dial-up online services.

Dave has a B.A. from the University of Virginia, and lives with his wife Karen and sons Miles and Jake in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Kynyatta Whitley has joined the staff as Membership Coordinator. Her responsibilities include answering customer inquiries via phone, e-mail, and fax. She also responds to incoming mail and changes on the website. For the past four years Kynyatta has performed customer service work in various capacities. She prefers this type of work because she enjoys interacting with and meeting new people.
