The APWA national, chapter, DCS and self-assessment websites will be down for system maintenance and upgrades from 11:00pm central time Friday, August 29th to approximately 12:00am central time, Saturday August 30th.

Volunteer oppportunities are a great way to be involved, network, and give back to your profession. Opportunities are available on both the national level and through your local chapter:

National level opportunities (A call for nominations is issued each year for openings on technical and standing committees)

  • Technical Committees
  • Standing and Program Committees and Councils
  • Task Forces and External Representation

National Events
There are volunteer opportunities at the North American Snow Conference, the Sustainability in Public Works Conference, and the International Public Works Congress & Exposition.  However the host chapter for the event typically handles volunteer coordination.  For information about who to contact at the host chapter, visit the chapter's website.  For example the 2013 International Public Works Congress & Exposition is in Chicago, Illinois, so the Chicago Metro chapter will be coordinating volunteers.

Chapter level opportunities
To indicate any opportunities you are interested in at the local chapter level, log in to your account online (Members Only) then complete the "Chapter Interest Survey" that is listed on the Member Tools page.
