How do I post a position on APWA WorkZone?
It’s easy! Simply go to the APWA WorkZone home page and click on "Post Position." You’ll be asked to log-in to the APWA WorkZone site. If you do not have a user ID account, click on the orange banner that says “Create a Free APWA WorkZone Account” and follow the simple instructions on how to create one. It’s absolutely free and you are not required to be an APWA member to post positions on APWA WorkZone. Once you’re logged-in, enter your contact information, select the job categories and job type and you’ll be prompted to enter the position description. When you’re finished, you’ll receive a summary of the information for your review. You’ll receive the word count and amount due and you can proceed to the payment screens. Once you’ve completed the transaction, you’ll automatically receive a confirmation e-mail—and your ad will already be active on APWA WorkZone. It’s quick, simple and stress-free!

How much does it cost to post a position on APWA WorkZone?
The cost for posting an ad on the WorkZone site is $3.00/word with a $150 minimum.

What are the accepted methods of payment?
When posting an ad on our WorkZone website, you can choose to pay with one of three forms of payment. You can pay with credit card, purchase order, or check. If paying with a purchase order, we must first receive a faxed hard copy of the purchase order before releasing the ad to our website. If paying by check, please note that the check must clear and APWA WorkZone must have the funds in hand before we can post the ad to our website.

What if I place an ad on WorkZone and don’t receive any qualified candidates? Am I eligible for a refund?
Refunds will be addressed on a case-by-case basis and will be issued in the form of a credit.

Duration/Extensions/Changes

How long will my position be on APWA WorkZone?
Positions will run 45 days from the date of initial posting. Positions expire at 12:00 (Central Time) the calendar day following the expiration date.

What if my position is filled within 45 days? Can I extend it? Is there an extra fee?
Your ad can be extended one time only for an additional 30 days. The flat rate is $175.

What if I decide to change some of the job criteria?
You can add up to 10 additional words at no charge. Changes in excess of 10 words cost $3.00/word. If the net number of words decreases, you are not eligible to receive a refund.

We just underwent a hiring freeze and we have a position posted on APWA WorkZone? What do we do?
You can deactivate your ad and repost it at another time. However, you will be charged the flat rate of $3.00/word to reinstate it.

Reporter Ads

Can I also advertise my job in the Reporter?
Yes. There is a flat rate to post an ad in the Reporter magazine of $250. Simply mark the checkbox in the Payment Information step when posting your ad and you will see your updated total and your ad will be included in the specified issue of the Reporter.

Can I advertise my job only in the Reporter and not on APWA WorkZone?
You are more than welcome to post your advertisement in the Reporter only; however, you can double your exposure by choosing to post on the WorkZone website as well.

Deadlines

What is the deadline for posting an ad on APWA WorkZone?
There is no deadline! One of the user-friendly new features of APWA WorkZone is that postings are immediate. As soon as you have submitted your ad, it will appear online, so job seekers have instant access.

What is the deadline for submitting a Reporter ad?
11:59 p.m. (Central Time) on the fifth day of the month to be placed in the next month’s issue of the Reporter. Ad received after the cut-off date will be placed in the following month’s issue.
