The APWA Advocacy Ambassador program is intended to be a link between each U.S. APWA Chapter and APWA’s federal government affairs efforts. These Ambassadors will be part of a grassroots network in which each will serve as the liaison between the chapter’s advocacy activities and APWA Government Affairs. The APWA Ambassador Network will share information about advocacy activities taking place in each chapter, assist in establishing advocacy efforts if each chapter has not done so already, and most importantly link APWA federal Government Affairs resources to the chapter. It is important to note that the APWA Advocacy Ambassador program is not intended to replace any chapter advocacy activities already going on, but rather to serve as a supplemental resource.

Learning Objectives:

1. Discover how your chapter can take advantage of the APWA Advocacy Ambassador program.

2. Identify what APWA Government Affairs resources are available to help your chapter in establishing advocacy efforts.

3. Exchange ideas with representatives from other chapters about successful chapter advocacy initiatives.
